Massage

What can I expect during a massage?
During a massage, a therapist
manipulates your body's soft tissues — your muscles, skin and tendons.
You will be given ample time to relax
and ask any questions prior to your
massage. This is your time to explain to me what areas you would like me to
concentrate on, or to express any of your physical concerns. We
typically use a firm massage pressure. You will need to express verbally if you need more or less pressure.
Allow yourself to relax in silence.
Often, clients fall asleep during a
massage. This is a perfectly normal
response and indicates deep relaxation. Your relaxation and release from stress is of utmost importance.
We use the highest quality oils
gels, lotions, and creams for your massage. You may request in advance a fragrant essential oil prior to be added to the massage oils. These increase the oxygenation to the cells and the aroma is
conducive to relaxation and healing.
It is our wish for you to emerge from your
massage session feeling
relaxed, well and happy; integrated in
Body, Mind, and Spirit..

Thai Yoga Massage is done on a mat on the floor with the
recipient fully dressed in
comfortable clothing. Thai massage is a process of
transferring
compassion, a
Buddhist tenet, from the practitioner to the recipient. It is a
meditation in motion in which the practitioner uses their palms, thumbs, elbows and feet to work the lines of energy which correspond roughly to the
meridians in Acupuncture.
The muscles are kneaded and stretched as the practitioner gently works the recipients body into a series of Yoga postures, to the precise depth appropriate for each individual.
It is a unique and powerful system of Yoga Therapy, which combines rhythmic massage, acupressure, asanas (Yogic stretching
exercises), gentle twisting, energy work and meditation.
Thai Yoga Massage stimulates and
balances the flow of healing energy within the body, opening the areas which are blocked bringing the person deeper into balance and harmony for health, happiness and wellness of being.
This system creates a powerful release of stress and tension, an increase in vitality and it deepens the connection between body, mind, and spirit in both the giver and receiver.
This work is a living expression of
compassion, loving kindness, and healing.
